Course title	Selected Readings in western Drama
Instructor	Quan Wang
Instructor’s profile	Dr. Wang obtained his PhD degree from Beijing Foreign Studies University.His/ Her research interests are Animal Studies, literary theories, Comparative Literature.
Course goals	This course aims to introduce students to the application of drama theory to the texts by several major playwrights. The principle woven through the course is that we aim at high quality in-depth discussions rather than massive readings. The study of their works will contribute to the students’ better understanding of the Western culture and literature as a whole.
Topics	Topics to be covered in this course include: Sophocles Oedipus Rex Presentation Topics: Aristotle “Poetic” Henrik Ibsen A Doll House Presentation Topics: Carl G. Jung “On the Relation of Analytical Psychology to Poetry” Arthur Miller Death of A Salesman Presentation Topics: Arthur Miller “Tragedy and the Common Man”
